The program will also explore planning strategies for specific types of assets and ownership structures typically found in real estate deals. The presentation will go through a series of hypothetical fact patterns, will focus on practical tax and non-tax considerations when representing real estate investors, such as the use of grantor trusts for wealth transfer tax planning, selection of trustees to hold real estate interests, dealing with negative capital accounts, managing capital gains and 1031 issues, transferring QOZ interests, transfers of âpromoteâ interests, and much, much more!\n\nBio\n\nFarhad Aghdami\n\nFarhad Aghdami is a Partner in the Tax Department of Williams Mullen. He focuses his practice on wealth transfer tax planning, business succession planning, income tax planning for individuals and businesses and fiduciary litigation. Farhad has been listed (Band 1) in the Chambers USA High Net Worth Guide for Private Wealth Law (2017-present). Farhad is an active Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is a member of its Board of Regents. Farhad is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Southern Federal Tax Institute. He is also a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.\n\nFarhad is a 1989 graduate of the University of Virginia and a 1992 graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law.
