Program Description and Benefits:
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 created a new category of life insurance policy transfers, known as a reportable policy sale, that can cause the death benefit of a life insurance policy to become taxable even if the transfer would have otherwise been protected under more well-known transfer for value rule exceptions. Join Caroline McKay, a Senior Wealth Strategist at CIBC Private Wealth US, as she discusses these updated rules and important planning considerations when planning with life insurance.

As an added bonus, Fred Gordon, JD, LLM, Senior Director, National Tax Go-To-Market and Tax Policy Services at RSM US LLP will start off the morning with a brief update on upcoming estate tax law changes.
